Silvia Massarelli - Conductor

"An exceptional personality: a deep sensibility that captures even the smallest detail of the score, an impalpable refinement in the dreamy moments and then a heat, a sentimental warmth that you immediately recognize" (La Sicilia – S. Sciacca).
Silvia Massarelli combines enthusiasm and dedication to music, to an admirable rigor in concentration and to a natural inclination to share the joy of making music, creating a mood of bright energy that characterizes all her performances. The particular affinity with the world of French music, the attention to more creative expressions of contemporary music as well as a repertoire that is not granted  make Silvia Massarelli an uncommon interpreter in the Italian music scene.
"Grand Prix de direction d'orchestre" at the International Competition of Besançon (Chaired by Manuel Rosenthal). Critics Award at the Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg and only winner of Robert Blot Competition in Paris, Silvia Massarelli studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she graduated with honors unanimously.
Assistant to M.W. Chung for Verdi's Simon Boccanegra at the Opera Bastille in Paris and to Petit-Laurent Girard for Massenet's Werther at the Opéra Comique in Paris, Silvia Massarelli has collaborated with internationally renowned musicians such as Michel Dalberto, Martin Spandenberg clarinet soloist at the Muncher Philharmoniker, Claude Delangle and  Jean-Yves Fourmeau, sax soloists at the Berliner Philharmoniker.
She has conducted numerous world premieres by composers including Edison Denisov, Lowell Liebermann, Eric Tanguy, Thierry Escaich, Lorenzo Palomo and participated in the Nordic Days Rejkiavik Musical Festival. She has been invited by many prestigious orchestras including: New York Philharmonic, Wiener Kammer Orchester, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre des Concerts Lamourex, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Phylarmonique Orchestre des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy, Orchestre Symphonique de Tours, Halle Handel Festival Orchestra, Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic of Bialystok, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra Ecuador State.
